I like to subject the image to constrained protocols: fragmenting it, diverting it, overloading it. The result is a body of work that blurs the boundaries between human gaze and machine vision, between capture and creation, between automation and subjectivity.
My main tool is the web browser. Yet over time it has become less a tool than a territory: a plastic space crossed by wanderings, experiments, and inquiries of all kinds. It is also my site of production, the place where images are made and where surprises emerge. It is at once a space for seeing and a tool for making. I do not see the screen as a frame, but rather as a stage, a theatre of visual operations.
I often describe my practice as a flow, a river in which I fish. The works presented here bring together long-term investigations and more recent pieces. All share a fascination with interfaces and with what they can generate: images, sounds, spaces.
They also concern our gestures, daily, unconscious, mechanical. Some works highlight, conversely, the ways in which these same interfaces affect us, transform us, body and mind, and play with us. Others explore what they are capable of producing when pushed to their limits of capacity, memory, or space.
It is therefore all about gestures, geographies, impossible quests, all within a digital matter in constant evolution, a substance we press against, work upon, and which so often resists us. In a way, I suppose I am trying to make visible what escapes me: the logics, the narratives, the biases that shape how we see.
