Displace

Displace is a video built from a series of images taken from other works, already subjected to multiple manipulations and pushed here to the extreme, until they seem to float in space or dissolve completely. At this point, every reference to the original material is lost; all meaning is diluted. All that remains are lines, shapes, textures, colours and rhythms.

The title, Displace, comes from the image-processing technique itself (displacement), in which the pixels of an image are shifted according to a noise or to another image.
